El Libro de Ester (hebreo מְגִילַת אֶסְתֵּר, Meguilat Ester—"Rollo de Ester") es un antiguo libro hebreo y forma parte de Ketuvim, la tercera sección del Tanaj o Biblia hebrea. El texto original hebreo es universalmente considerado canónico. Para el judaísmo, el mismo constituye un libro externo e independiente de la Torá. Para el cristianismo el mismo forma parte de los libros del Antiguo Testamento. A su vez, las adiciones posteriores en griego fueron aceptadas como deuterocanónicas por la Iglesia católica, en tanto que los protestantes las excluyen de la Biblia.

The Book of Esther, also known in Hebrew as "the Scroll" (Megillah), is a book in the third section (Ketuvim, "Writings") of the Jewish Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) and in the Christian Old Testament. It relates the story of a Hebrew girl in Persia, born as Hadassah but known as Esther, who becomes queen of Persia and thwarts a genocide of her people. The story forms the core of the Jewish festival of Purim, during which it is read aloud twice: once in the evening and again the following morning. Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not explicitly mention God.
