    Work rules (就業規則 shū gyō kisoku) are a feature of Japanese labor law. Article 89 of the Japanese Labor Standards Act of 1947 states that companies with ten or more regular employees must draw up workplace conditions and regulations. According to Article 90 of the act, workers must be given an opportunity to give their opinion about rules or changes to the rules, but their consent is not required.
