(Not to be confused with International Astronautical Federation.) The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI; English: The World Air Sports Federation), is the world governing body for air sports. It was founded on 14 October 1905, and is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It maintains world records for aeronautical activities including ballooning, aeromodeling, and unmanned aerial vehicles; and also for human spaceflight.
