    Tektites (from Greek τηκτός tēktós, "molten") are gravel-size bodies composed of black, green, brown or gray natural glass formed from terrestrial debris ejected during meteorite impacts. They generally range in size from millimeters to centimeters. Millimeters-size tektites are known as microtektites.
